![]() The staff is rude and disinterested, and the average food is expensive and skimpy. That was especially troubling because the waitress lied to us when we were in for lunch and said the onion soup did not have animals in it. To top things off, the two veterinarians in our group couldn't have soup because there weren't any available that didn't have boiled animals in them and nothing was substituted for that item even though it was paid for. The waitress had a serious attitude because we protested having to wait for people who just walked in even though we had a reservation. Never saw that happen in other restaurants. The vegetables were cooked in the chicken grease, so that was an issue for the vegetarians. I ordered chicken, which was under cooked and dropped on my plate before I could ask to have it cooked more. I ended up with a spoon full of onions and a piece of broccoli. He was short on vegetables and only gave a small portion to each person. Store Hours when classes are in session: Monday - Friday 8:00am-6:00pm. (which skeezed me out more if digging in a drain with a fork and toilet paper with no gloves didn't already) Housekeeping needs to check the drain as part of their turnover or included in the maintenance schedule. There is no way housekeeping would miss this clog if they cleaned the shower area as the water would not drain. Forty minutes later and hairball the size of a baseball the shower/tub became serviceable. Since it was after midnight and my one son was already sleeping I started to try and fix it myself like a good husband. My wife was totally skeezed out by the lack of water draining and became angry. I took a shower and immediately noticed the bath tub filling up. I got sidetracked and went back to the bathroom a half hour later and totally forgot about the water. After him I went in and noticed the tub was half full. With all of us needing a shower my son went first. We got to the hotel in the early evening after moving my son into his dorm. You could see it was wiped with bath towel from the streaks. In the bathroom the mirror had a dirty haze across the entire mirror. In less than an hour of being in the room my whit socks were dirty! Room carpets could use a good deep cleaning. I always wear socks in the room (don't like walking bare foot in any hotel). The mattresses and pillow are SUPER comfy! You will enjoy a great nights sleep! Unfortunately this trip gets only 2 stars. Breakfast was good as far as hotel breakfasts go. Staff is always friendly and common areas are super clean especially the gym and pool areas. This is our go to hotel when visiting Oneonta. ![]()
